Health Update New Year's Eve, 2007 Dear Friends of My Mother, It has been more than a year since I last wrote to you concerning my mother’s health. I am writing to give you an update at this holiday season. As you are aware, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and underwent surgery in August 2006. She recovered successfully and was able to walk soon after. Since then, she has not appeared to be in any pain and we do not have any evidence that her cancer has returned. I am confident that we made the right decision to have the surgery as it prevented her from suffering. She continues to take medication that has been successful growth inhibitor for her type of cancer. However, in spite of her recovery from cancer, she continues to follow a fairly normal trajectory for an Alzheimer’s patient. Over the past year, we have seen her decline in awareness, speech and physical ability. She walks only with assistance and rarely speaks but does occasionally laugh. Those who care for her believe that she is spending most of her time in the etheric. She continues to have round-the-clock care and I am happy to say that her needs are being met by the church and private donations. I want to thank you for keeping her in your prayers.
