Dear Friends of My Mother,
I would like to extend a personal thank you to each and every one who has contributed to my mother’s support, as well as to all of you who have sent gifts, flowers, cards and remembrances.
Health Update
There is not much new to report this year. My mother’s health has continued on the slow downward trajectory that is typical of an Alzheimer’s patient.
To her friends and family who visit, she continues to display the sweetness and the affection of a young child.
However, she has less energy than last year, and her smiles are almost too fleeting to capture. For that reason, and to preserve her dignity, I am not releasing any new photos of her in illness.
During this year, there have been rumors of a sudden downturn in her health, and also of her imminent transition. I would like to assure you that no such downturn has taken place, and that I consider it irresponsible for people to spread rumors stemming either from their own conjecture or from messages they have supposedly received from masters.
Should there be any sudden change or downturn, I will not hesitate to notify those of you who consider yourselves to be her friends and who have signed up for our e-mail updates.
She continues with her normal daily routine, getting in a walk, exercises, sunshine when possible, her diet of fresh, organic foods, and her vitamin and mineral supplements. I continue to be very pleased with the quality of care she is receiving and with the peace and tranquility of her environment.
Thank you for keeping her in your ongoing prayers.
Clarification about Mother’s Care Trust and My Non-Profit Work
At this time, I have chosen not to start a new spiritual group, as I had announced on this site a couple of years ago. After speaking with my family, as well as members and former members, I have decided that it is not the right time and that there is too much disagreement as to what carrying on my parents’ work might entail.
Nevertheless, I am establishing a non-profit to perform the tasks outlined in my December 2003 communications, namely to preserve my parents’ mementoes and early writings, and to publish their pre-Summit work. Should there be any funds remaining in the trust upon my mother’s transition, they will go to this organization. Since the amount of money in the trust is adequate for her current needs but is not large, I view this as largely a formality.
Donations to Mother’s Care Trust will continue to be used to provide for Mother’s care during her life. If you choose to send donations to Mother directly, you can send them to Elizabeth Francis at P.O. Box 4168, Bozeman, MT 59772. Please see the Contributions page for further information.
Simultaneously with this update, I have replaced some of the previous letters dating from 2003 and 2004 with a timeline and summary of her care needs.
New Photo Available to Donors
I am happy to announce that I am making another photo of my mother available to donors. It is the 1984 photo posted on this site last year. It will be sent automatically to those who have made donations and have already received the other three pictures available on the website. It will also be added to the list of photos that donors can specifically request.
In conclusion, let me thank you again for your support and wish you the best of good fortune in the year ahead.
With love, Erin
